A new installation and a retrofit are two paths to the same Sailtab system: start from scratch or keep your existing sensors. There are two apps: Tactician brings race tactics to a tablet and comes with Sailtab; Controller puts Sailtab's settings on your phone and is free.

It processes your sensor data on one processor and calculates true wind, VMG, polar targets and laylines. The result is shown on a 10.1" display you can read in sunlight. Runs on boat power; switches on and off with the ignition.

What's included?

Sailtab unit (calculation and display) · Communicator (your boat's data link) · mast-foot bracket · power and cable kit. A core package with your existing sensors, or a full package with sensors included; the configuration is set for your boat.

The same Sailtab system, with your existing instruments. Communicator reads the data from your old system (NMEA 0183, SeaTalk, NMEA 2000); the calculations and the display move to Sailtab. No sensors removed.

From complex data,

One flow from sensor to screen. Communicator carries the sensor data onto the boat network; Sailtab processes it, and true wind, VMG and laylines are calculated here. Tactician uses the same data on a tablet; Controller runs Sailtab from your phone.

Data goes from the sensors to Communicator and from there onto the boat network. Sailtab, Tactician and Controller take it from that network; Controller also manages Sailtab over a control line.
